Winning Technique to Catch Early Spring Bass!

When:
Early-spring after a few warm, sunny days
Where:
Shallows- especially around boat docks
Bait:
Floating plastic crawdad, lizard, or worm on 1/8 oz. round jighead with a long 1/0 hook
Gear:
Light/Medium spinning rod and reel with 14 lb. test
Action:
The heavy line lets bait fall slowly in front of the cold, slow-moving bass

Three Baits for Early Spring River Walleyes!

1: Using a 3 ft. spinner-rigged minnow, troll about 1 foot above the bottom varying speed and depth. Avoid boating over riffles.
2: Using a slip-bobber and a night crawler, fish riffles from the bank. Use a soft-action 8 foot rod and keep line tight to set the hook.
3: Using a leadhead jig and minnow, cast and drift or retrieve in riffles. Jig should be heavy enough to present bait vertically to fish at 8 feet deep.
